A set of 12 porcelain “Dragon” dishes, decorated in blue and iron-red internally a double circle with a five-clawed dragon chasing the flaming pearl amidst clouds, sides likewise with two dragons. 11 dishes marked with Yongzheng sealmark, one dish marked Yang He Tang hall mark, all marks in black glaze and from the period 1723–1735. Diam. 16.5 cm. (12)

NB. Correction: 11 plates marked Yongzheng and from the period. One dish marked Yang He Tang and from the 18th/19th century.

Provenance: According to information acquired by Ludvig Stenersen Münter, 1877–1957, who worked for the Great Northern Telegraph Company and was stationed as an assistent in Shanghai from 1900–1909 and as a station master in Beijing from 1909–1929, the family knew Sophus Black, and their home was a popular meeting place for Danish expats in Beijing.
