Elephants at a waterhole. Signed Wilh. Kuhnert. Oil on canvas. 126×236 cm.

Wilhelm Kuhnert is considered to be one of the best German animal painters of his time. He travelled extensively - especially to East Africa, and as a painter he is famous for seeking out and depicting the animals in their natural habitat.
