Large stool of carved patinated wood in the shape of female fertility figure with traces of blue and white pigment. Yoruba, Nigeria. H. 75.5 cm.

Provenance: Bought in 1973 from artist Robert Jacobsen, who had bought the stool from Rene Rasmussen in Paris, 1955. Exhibited: Til Guder, ånder og aner (Gods, spirits and ancestors). African art from H. R. H. Prince Henrik’s private collection, 2009. Gl. Holtegaard. Depicted p. 23.
