William Tomkins (Tompkins) London

A pair of rare mahogany George III twin longcase clock and barometer, each with pagoda top and inlaid with marquetry of light wood in the shape of putti, festoons, rosettes, fans and ornaments, arched gilt brass dials with openwork corner ornaments, silvered chapter rings and plaquettes and openwork hands, the clock with minute and calendar disposal. Both signed 'Will.m Tomkins, London'. England, second half of the 18th century. H. 238 cm. W. 52 cm. D. 25 cm. (2)

William Tomkins (Tompkins) was a freeman of The Clockmakers Company from 1762–1775.
