Poul Henningsen (b. Ordrup 1894, d. Hillerød 1967)
“PH-6/5”. Pendant with nickel-plated bayonet socket house with patinated copper shades. This example manufactured approx. 1930 by Louis Poulsen. Diam. 60 cm.
After Poul Henningsen in 1926 successfully designed the lighting for the “giant hall” in Copenhagen, later known as “Forum”, several large factory halls - built in the late 1920s and early 1930s - were lit by large PH-pendants. Characteristic of these are the copper shades that were made at Lauritz Henriksen Metalware Factory for Louis Poulsen.
