Alexei Vasiliev Polosov (, Moscow 1757)

A Russian Baroque silver beaker, of light tapering form, chased and embossed with scrolling stylized foliage in between two cartouches with animal sceneries. Alexei Vasiliev Polosov, assayer Igor Ivanov, Moscow town mark 1757. Weight c. 80 g. H. 8.2 cm. Diam. 7.3 cm.

Provenance: The Danish Envoy and Consul General Hans Poul Hoffmeyer (1893–1962). Thence by descent with residence in Denmark, until today.
