Torkov (, 20th century)
A unique console of Zebrano with rounded front with two integrated drawers, orb handles with brownish orange lacquer. Mounted on round brass legs, piercing the shelf below, covered with light “Lincrusta”. Matching wall mounted oval mirror included. Made 1935 for Illums. Console: H. 73 cm. D. 38 cm. L. 110 cm. Mirror: H. 87 cm. W. 41 cm. (2)
Provenance: Made on special order for Mr Torkov's own home. Torkov was dept. head for furniture at Illums in the 1930s. He was probably the designer as well.
