CHURCHILL THEME
Winston Churchill was never a great friend of the BBC, which had shown an almost hostile attitude towards him throughout the 1930s, but when war came, he instinctively understood the power of the then relatively new medium that brought him into millions of homes across the vast British Empire. Between 1939 and 1945, a total of 56 of Winston Churchill's speeches were broadcast through the BBC.
This is an original b/w silver gelatin press photograph from 1943, which appears with a slightly wavy surface. Small surface cracks. A few superficial marks. Back somewhat discolored. In addition, common signs of handling.
