Asger Jorn (b. Vejrum 1914, d. Århus 1973)

17 etchings. Printed in 1954/1955 by Richard Winther, when the plates were discovered at Grafisk Skole, Copenhagen. The artist Holger J. Jensen asked Richard Winther to make prints for the school's archive and Richard Winther got the permission to make a set of prints for himself. The plates were brought by Richard Winther to the gallerist Børge Birch in Copenhagen from whom they were passed on to Jorn. 16 etchings (VdL 45–59) were included in the series “Occapations”, published by Galerie Rive Gauche, Paris in 1960. On the reverse of the sheets inscribed: “Til Troels (Andersen). Radering af Asger Jorn trykt af R. Winther”. Etchings. Sheet sizes 25×32 cm. Unframed. (17)

Literature: Van de Loo nos. 12, 45–59. A few exhibited at “Nordiske udstilling”, Rome, 1955. Provenance: Present from the danish artist Richard Winther to the current owner in 1974.
