The Advisory Provincial Estates or the Danish Assembly of the Estates, was introduced after the Prussian model by the laws of 28.5.1831 and 15.5.1834. The task of the Assembly was to advise on or propose laws; the meetings took place every other year during the period 1835–48. The debates were not public but were printed in the publication Stændertidende (News of the Assembly). Despite these limitations, the Estates were of great importance for the growing political consciousness in the final years of absolute monarchy in the country and became a preamble for the later parliamentary structure.

Provenance: Master of the Royal Hunt Brun to Krogerup (1842). Bruun Rasmussen auction 472, 1985 no. 85, reproduced p. 91. Here acquired by the present owner's family. A Danish manor house.
