Mathilde Leth (, 19th century, Danish painter)

Two still lifes with flowers in vases on a table. Signed and dated M. v. Leth 1831. Oil on canvas. C. 49×39 cm each. (2).

Not much is known about the present artist, other than her name and her active period. Mathilde Leth does not seem to be represented in any Danish museums, and her works are rarely offered at auction. Her still lifes are similar in style to works by C. D. Fritzsch (1765–1841) and his student Johannes Ludvig Camradt (1779–1849), who both worked with the classic, Netherlandish flower arrangements in antique vases.
