A Danish silver creamer raised on three legs with hooves H. 9.5 cm; an oval bowl with handles L. 16 cm, and a sugarbowl, lacking glass insert. L. 12 cm. Circa 1800. Weight 364 g. (3)

Provenance: The Danish Envoy and Consul General Hans Poul Hoffmeyer (1893–1962). Secretary of Legation in Vienna, Berlin, Moscow and Warzaw in the 1920s, later Counsellor of the Legation in Berlin, Paris, Turkey, Israel and Greece, and finally Consul General in Hamburg from 1954. Hoffmeyer's interest in collecting silver was pervasive and he acquired items in all the cities he lived. Thence by descent with residence in Denmark, until today.

Condition

Normal patina due to age and use, including scratches and marks. Oval bowl with embossed dates and initials.
