In mentioned literature, following work can be read on page 195–205:
(Translated) “Throughout a long life, it not infrequently, happened that Munch – rightly or wrongly – felt misunderstood, persecuted, and harassed. At times, his sense of being a victim of others' malice became so strong that it approached pure persecution mania. To cope with these issues, he did as he so often did, he transformed the situations into pictures, into art. ... In 1910, Munch published a series of lithographs, all revolving around episodes where he perceived himself as unfairly treated. Collectively, these lithographs are called ”The Story of Suffering."
Many of the other caricatures in “The Story of Suffering” involve physical harm and death, but in one of them, the victim speaks out: “The shot deer strikes back!”"
