ROYAL CORRESPONDENCE. A collection of letters, telegrams, Christmas cards, further greetings and photographs from King Frederik IX (1899–1972) of Denmark, Queen Consort Ingrid (1910–2000) and Queen Margrethe II (as heir to the throne) to Commander senior grade Henrik Rømeling (1911–1970). Covering the years 1948–1969. Also a personal photo album from the voyages of the vessel 'Holger Danske' in the summer of 1953, herein several shoots of Henrik Rømeling in the company of King Frederik. (44).

Commander Henrik Rømeling (1911–1970) joined the Danish Navy in the early 1930s, was appointed Lieutenant in 1935 and Commander in 1940. During the Second World War, he enlisted in the British Navy. In 1947, he was appointed adjutant to King Frederik IX, a position he held until 1950. The two men developed a warm friendship - as this collection of letters and greetings clearly shows - and remained in close contact until Henrik Rømeling's death in 1970.
