Christian Joachim (b. Danmark 1870, d. 1943)

A sculptural stoneware vase modelled with “face” and two handles. Decorated with dark red and blue, and light grey glazes. Signed Joachim, Birkerød, 423. Dated 1905. Unique. H. 27 cm. W. max. ca. 17 cm.

Normal wear due to age and use, including scratches and marks. Hairline crack and chip on upper rim. Base with firing crack, foot rim with chips from the freeing of the piece from the surface during the process of making.
