A Danish Amager silver-gilt “hovedvandsæg” vinaigrette with filigree-work, heart-shaped, the hinged cover with crowned oval medallion, flanked by angels, the medallion with owner's initials and date D CSJ MCS 1856, the back side with memorial, the body set with two medallions with memorial and flower bouquet, the base with rampant lions and balm-hide, pricked with initials and date DCSJ MCS 1856. Maker Christopher Glerup Jacobsen, Copenhagen 1847–1880. Weight 102 g. H. 11.5 cm.

Provenance: Käthe & John Marsing's collection.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Filigree work with a few minor missing thread ornaments. Medallions with wear.
