“War Is Over”, 2023. Signed Farshad Farzankia, 1/6. Silkscreen in colours. Visible size 99×69 cm.
The Iranian artist Farshad Farzankia (b. 1980) works and lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1989, he fled with his family to Denmark due to the Iranian revolution. Farzankia educated as graphic designer. He left the subject in 2016 to dedicate himself to his work as a visual artist. His artistic practice concentrates mainly on painting, but he also works with sculpture, graphic prints, and films. His works are full of motifs, figures and characters that put both large and small narratives into play – about identity and self-narrative, freedom, and movement, about fake news and philosophy. In his painting, different cultures, times, and places appear side by side with personal traces of memory and symbols. Each painting is like an open scene or a detached film sequence that invites the viewer into alluring worlds full of images, language, and culture. Represented at Atelier Hjorth-Rohde.
Examined in frame. Original condition.
