Hans J. Wegner (b. Tønder 1914, d. Gentofte 2007)
“GE 500”. An easy chair with oak frame. Armrests and loose cushions in seat and back upholstered with striped and black fabric. Wedge shaped legs with castors. Designed circa 1970. Manufactured by Getama.
Presented at Scandinavia Furniture Fair 1972.
GE Model 500 was only in production for a short period in the early 1970s as demand did not materialize. It is assumed that the total production of sofas, armchairs and a matching high-backed armchair was 50–100 units in total. The model rarely seen.
