Associated Press photographer Eddie Adams' Pulitzer Prize-winning depiction of the summary execution of a captain from the communist Viet Cong army on February 1, 1968 has come to stand as a monument to the Vietnam War. As early as February 2, the day after the execution took place, the photograph was published in numerous American newspapers, and in the hours that followed, it reached the rest of the world.

Condition

This is an original black-and-white silver gelatin press photograph from 1968, which appears with two minor tears in the lower and right side white edge. Furthermore, signs of handling, including a few surface pressure marks, a few surface creases as well as fine surface scratches. Telegram on back has yellowed slightly.
