In memory of a young girl joining a religious order of nuns. Unsigned. Gouache on paper laid on panel. Visible size 22×17 cm. Baroque-frame.

A young girl wearing nuns clothing, holding a prayer book in one hand. She is standing in front of a table where a scull and Christ on the cross is placed. She is encircled by a frame, upon which is reads: Maria Seraphina AS Theresia Filia Primogenita, Cornely. Hermanni A Coppenhagen. Beneath a crowned shield held by two guards. Beneath this a marbled plinth which reads: Eingekleidet in Collen Bey Denen Discalceatessen In Der Schnurgas: Den 7ten Februarie 1762. Alters 15 Jahr und 3 Tag. Profession den 8ten Februarie 1763.

Condition

Some discolourations. Examined in frame.
