A Roman marble head of Eros, turned slightly to the right, the hair is parted in a central plait over the head, curls to the side and back under a ribbon, large curls cover the neck. Details are both engraved and chiselled. Mounted on stand. 1st century AD. H. 16 cm.
Provenance. Danish private collection. Acquired in 1990 at Kunsthallen auktion 396, lot. 426. Previously from a Dmanor, collection acquired in Rome in 1850 at an auction over the estate of Palazzo Braschi.
