“Fjäderskålen” (The Feather Bowl). Bowl of clear glass. Engraved with feather motif. Signed Orrefors, H. 3473. Designed 1953. Made 1950s by Orrefors, Sweden. H. 13 cm. L. 20.7 cm.
The Feather Bowl was designed in 1953 by the artist Edward Hald who at the time was 70 years old. The piece is a testimony to the engravers' abilities at Orrefors, simultaneously marking a much needed renewal of the 1950s engraved glass.
