Unsigned case back no. 6238. Serial no. 1007778 (skal tjekkes, virker forkert!!) Middle case no. 6238. Hands have been replaced.

The ''Pre-Daytona'' reference 6238 is the direct predecessor of the Cosmograph Daytona reference 6239, and was the last Rolex chronograph model to sport a tachymeter scale upon the dial itself. The dial is double-signed Serpico Y Laino, a jewellery company founded in Caracas, Venezuela in 1925 by Italians Leopoldo Serpico and Vicente Laino, who had exclusive rights on selling Rolex in Venezuela until 1966, making this timepiece an interesting collector's item.
