Portrait of Tsar Peter III of Russia (1728–1762), with a long wig and dressed in armor and an ermine cloak, ruled for six months in 1762. Inscribed on the reverse of the canvas: “Karl Peter Ulrich Herzog v. Holstein Gottorp, geb. 1827, Herzog Carl Friedrich v. H. Gottorp u. Anna Petrovnas Sohn. Kaiser Peter III 1762”. Unsigned. Condition

The canvas is relined. The painting has been roughly cleaned and repaired, incl. retouches in several places. Some peelings (or wear) and crackles.
