“The Khodynka Cup” - a pair of Russian coronation metal and enamel cups in the honour of Zar Nicolai II of Russia anno 1896. H. 10 cm. (2).
Provenance: Seller's great-grandfather, Lassen, Danish estate manager in Russia. The father was employed at the Royal Court of Christian IX, and through Tsarotsa Maria Feodorovna and and Tsar Alexander III of Russia he caused the son to create a future in Russian agriculture. He became therefore soon administrator of Ukrainian estates belonging to Zar Alexander III of Russia's adjudicator, Count Musni-Puschin. Later he also became administrator of estates belonging to Grand Duke Dmitry Constantinovich of Russia. The seller's grandmother, born in Russia, fled to Denmark in connection with World War II.
