An early 20th century Chinese chess set, including 32 partly red coloured bone chess pieces, carved with puzzle balls. Black lacquer chess board. Enclosed Japanese kiri box enclosed. Chess pieces H. 8–15 cm. Board 35×35 cm. (34)

Condition

Some chess pieces with nicks and missing parts, including hat knob. The main part of the pawns missing weapon, one white pawn in two pieces. One white rock with remains of glue and top part broken of. One red bishop with chip to headdress and crack at the back. The board with defective hinge, peelings, marks and scratches. Wear due to age and use.
