Harald Wilhelm Jensen (b. København 1837, d. Ålborg 1914)

A Summer day at Taabæk beach with fish traps drying in the wind. Signed with monogram and dated 1860. Oil on canvas laid on cardboard. 29×39.5 cm.

The present painting is one of the last by Harald Jensen, executed just before he starting making aquavit in Aalborg in 1862. Harald Jensen was an important figure in late 19th century Aalborg and was a board member at Landbosparekassen and a founding figure and chairman of Aalborg Kunstmuseum.

Condition

The corners with drawing pin holes. Minor surface scratches.
