Russian Bronze Foundry, second half of the 19th century

A pair of Russian gilt-bronze six-light candelabra, top with a flying bird on a ball, baluster stem on a circular base with three feet. St. Petersburg, 1860–1870. H. 60 cm. Diam. 28 cm. (2).

A pair of identical candelabra are in the Feodor Chaliapin House Museum in St. Petersburg. Feodor Chaliapin (1873–1938) was one of the most famous opera singers of his time.
