A Chinese bronze “elephant” censer and cover, bombé-shaped body cast with harness in relief. Handles in shape of raised elephant trunks; supported on three harnessed elephant heads. Pierced cover with foliage, finial forming a caparisoned recumbent elephant carrying a vase. Mark of Tian He Liu Nian Du Zhi. Qing, 19th century. Weight 12303 g. H. 51 cm. Carved wooden stand incl. H. 29 cm.
