English verge pocket watch in silver pair cases, white dial with Roman numerals and outer 5-minutes Arabic numerals, movement with silver balance cock and disc, signed R. Morley, inner back case engraved with owner's initial Joseph Mawde 1749. Inner case indistinctly marked with hallmarks, with presumably Newcastle city mark. Outer case appears unmarked. York c. 1749 century. Total weight 105 g. Case diam. 40/48 mm.

Robert Morley of York, freeman from 1732, died in 1751.

Condition

The watch works, but we do not guarantee for the functionality. The stem has been reattached, stem and bow possibly later. Mainspring barrel with old repair.
