Vilhelm Lauritzen (b. Slagelse 1894, d. Gentofte 1984)
Rare, sculptural Cuban mahogany armchair with brass fittings. Seat and back upholstered with striped wool. Designed and made approx. 1940 by Normina Cabinetmakers.
Provenance: Radiohuset, Copenhagen. The chair was designed for “Radiohuset” and used in the “radio broadcasting boardroom” and selected offices in the building. Literature: Lisbeth Balslev Jørgensen a.o.: “Vilhelm Lauritzen- En moderne arkitekt”, 1994, ill. pp. 252 and 267.
