A pair of family portraits depicting the Garnier family's children. Unsigned, dated on the reverse 1842 and 1844. Inscribed with name and age of the children: Mary aged 8, Anne Emily aged 7, John aged 6, Emily Caroline aged 5, Thomas Parry aged 3, Margaret Gertrude aged 2 and Bertha aged 1, all with surname Garnier. Oil on panel. 57.5×45 cm. (2)
Thomas Garnier the Younger (1809–1863) was Dean of Lincoln.
Retouches. Minor crackles. Few surface scratches and few minor peelings near edges.
