A Danish Amager silver-gilt “hovedvandsæg” vinaigrette with filigree-work, heart-shaped, the hinged cover with crowned oval medallion, flanked by palm leaves, the medallion with indistinct owner's initials, the back side with grave stele and peace dove, the body set with two medallions with a.o. a tempietto, the base with rampant lions and balm-hide, pricked with initials and year A. P. G. G. and K (?) 1826. Maker Johan Christian Winther, Copenhagen 1823–1843. Weight 104 g. H. 12.5 cm.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Damaged filigree work.
