A French Empire sterling silver tureen, cover and liner, of circular shape, openwork handles decorated with acorn and oak leaves, the domed cover with palmette rim, pine cone finial above foliage, flowers and wreath, on circular spreading base. The cover and body engraved with double coat of arms. The reverse engraved with number and weight No. 2, 8M 4O 3G. Maker Jean-Charles Cahier, Paris 1797–1809. Weight 2730 g. H. 30 cm. L. 36 cm. Diam. 26 cm.

According to seller the soup tureen was part of the interior at Kokkedal Castle in the early 20th century.
