NASA photographer: An original b/w NASA photograph of the Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong (1930–2012) and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin (b. 1930) during training prior to the Moon voyage in the summer of 1969. Back with description dated April 22nd. 1969. Photo size 25.5×20.5 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm.
Prior to their Moon voyage in July 1969 the astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin and Michael Collins had to endure months of intensive training, often toilsome and tiring. The space suits carried by the three men each weighed 60 pounds, something that in itself made their many exercises difficult. The training did not only take place in one location, yet in several - among these Hawaii, Nevada and Texas.
This is an original b/w NASA photograph from the spring of 1969. Mint condition.
