Lord Ismay was Winston Churchill's chief military advisor during the Second World War, decisively shaping the course of history. Later, from 1952–1957, he served as NATO's first Secretary General, leaving a lasting mark on the alliance.

This is an original signed b/w silver gelatin portrait photograph from 1956. Bruun Rasmussen warrants its authenticity. Cardboard somewhat yellowed and with some discolouration.
