Johan Rohde (b. Randers 1856, d. Hellerup 1935)
A two seater sofa with Cuban mahogany frame. Curved back and carved armrests, volutes and ornaments. Seat, sides' and back's inside upholstered with patterned/striped fabric. Presumably made around 1900 by H.P. Larsen. L. 180 cm.
Provenance: Johannes Bonnesen's villa in Ryvangen, Copenhagen, which was drawn by Johan Rodhe and Throvald Bindesbøll. The sofa was designed for the villa ca. 1900.
Condition
Normal patina due to age and use, including scratches and marks. A few minor notches on frame.
