Jacob Kjær (b. 1896, d. 1957)
Freestanding two seater sofa mounted on round stained beech legs. Sides, seat and back upholstered with white sheepskin, back fitted with buttons covered with natural leather. Made circa 1930–40 by cabinetmaker Jacob Kjær. L. 127 cm.
Upon re-upholstering, a “signature” reading Jacob Kjær written in pencil was found on the wooden frame. This sofa and the matching easy chair have many similar characteristics of the furniture designed by Flemming Lassen, which was also made by Jacob Kjær. However, it can not be substantiated that Flemming Lassen has designed this sofa and the matching easy chair.
Good condition. Re-upholstered and upholstery in mint condition. Legs gently restored with some visible old marks and minor bruises.
