Proveniens: Tysk samling. Safavid carpets are frequently to be seen in Dutch seventeenth century paintings and of all Safavid carpets the Herats were the ones most widely distributed throughout Europe and mainly to countries which has trade-relations with India and Persia through the East India companies.
