Rune Lambrecht (b. 1989)

Metamorfose II", 2023. Signed RL. Aerated concrete. 51×18×10 cm.

The Danish visual artist Rune Lambrecht (b. 1989) lives and works on Bornholm, Denmark. His work is centered around sculptures and collages in a surreal and expressive idiom. Drawing inspiration from Bornholm's nature, Lambrecht employs an artistic approach that moves between perceptive, tactile, and impulsive flows, resulting in organic pieces. Captivated by Bornholm's art and cultural history, Lambrecht is attracted to simplicity, accessibility, autonomy, freedom of action, and the forces of nature. He primarily works in aerated concrete and employs a simple manual tool for processing: the screwdriver. With the screwdriver, he slowly and intuitively processes the concrete layer by layer. In his practice, the process itself, rather than the outcome, is the primary focus. Through his practice, Lambrecht imitates the natural conditions of Bornholm – the calm rock and the rough sea – an eroding universe in constant motion.
