In 1950 and 1951 Hans J. Wegner makes the two “Dolphin” folding chairs with the highly refined frame and armrests. With his new Deck Chair from 1958, Wegner shows his flair for minimalistic design. Every part of this deck chair is about function. There are no hidden features, even the function of the adjustable back with the steel fittings is clearly visible and thus makes references to the international modernistic movement of the 1920s and 1930s.
