Returning home. Winter landscape with a Russian and his horses on a country road at sunset. Signed and dated N. Svertchkoff 1880 (in Cyrillic). On the reverse of the canvas a dedication (in Cyrillic): “To Alexander Alexandrovich Birjukov august 1880”. Oil on canvas. 51×68 cm.
Provenance: Private collection since the 1920s, where the Russian owners fled the Russian revolution and settled in Denmark. Thence by descendants.
