An original Cuban b/w propaganda photograph of the revolutionary leader Fidel Castro (1926–2016) during the 8th congress of the Cuban commmunist party (Partido Socialista Popular (PSP)) in Havana in August 1960. Back stamped 'St.[udio] Naranjo Reina 317 - Telf. W-9000'. Oak wood frame and double glazing. Visible size 14.5×8 cm. Frame size 25.5×18.5 cm.
The photo studio 'Studio Naranjo' in Calzada de Reina 317 in Havana's Arroyo Naranjo district, to which the photograph's back stamp refers, was active around the time of the Cuban Revolution and specialized in photographs of guerrilla leaders, especially Castro, and his rebel movement, and later party, 'Movimiento 26 de julio', also known as 'M-26–7' ('26 July Movement').
This is an original b/w propaganda photograph from 1960, which shows very modest signs of handling. Back has yellowed severely and has discolouration.
