Philip Andreievich Maliavine (b. Kazanki, Orenburg region 1869, d. Nice 1940)

A Russian woman in colourful clothes ploughs the field with a horse-drawn plough. Signed Ph. Maliavine. Oil on canvas. 80×100 cm.

Provenance: The Danish chief editor for Belingske Tidende, Svend Aage Lund. He was born in the early 20th century, and according to the seller's information he bought the painting at Hotel d'Angleterre in Copenhagen, where Philip Maliavine had an exhibition. Thence by descent until today.
