Gallia, Belgica, Morini, c. 70–50 BC, 1/4 Au-Stater (boat type), LT 8722, 1.42 g - exceptionally clear design for type
The imagery of this elusive type struck somewhere in the littoral area along the English Channel and the North Sea is highly fascinating. While the obverse seems to depict two people in a boat, the reverse shows the Celtic Tree of Life which seems closely related to the Norse equivalent “Ygdrasil”
