Hungary. 1954. Word Championships Soccer, 3 ft. Very rare unissued stamp from Hungary in 1954. Was produced for the 1954 World Cup in football where Hungary was the favorite to win. The stamp was supposed to be a tribute to the victorious team. Unfortunately Hungary lost the final to Germany and the entire circulation was destroyed. However, with the exception of a few stamps that escaped the paper mill. The stamp is mentioned in the Michel catalog, but not priced. [ (*) ]
