Martinus Rørbye (b. Drammen 1803, d. Copenhagen 1848)
Outside the Basilica of San Saba in Rome. Unsigned. Inscribed St. Saba. Verso sketches of monks and a street vendor. Wash and pencil on paper. Visible size 13.5 × 20.5 cm.
Rørbye visited Rome for the first time in 1834. During his stay, he draw several studies of monasteries and monks.

A few minor discolourations. Examined in frame.
