Five Russian silver vodka beakers, engraved and embossed with ornamentation, two with gilt interior, among others one parcel-gilt, engraved with regence ornamentation, Peter Semenov, assayer Kusma Grigoriev (1741–1749), Moscow townmark 17??. Moscow 18th century. Weight 203 g. H. 3.5–4.3 cm. Diam. 6–6.5 cm. (5).

Provenance: The Danish Envoy and Consul General Hans Poul Hoffmeyer (1893–1962). Secretary of Legation in Vienna, Berlin, Moscow and Warzaw in the 1920s, later Counsellor of the Legation in Berlin, Paris, Turkey, Israel and Greece, and finally Consul General in Hamburg from 1954. Hoffmeyer's interest in collecting silver was pervasive and he acquired items in all the cities he lived. Thence by descent with residence in Denmark, until today.

Condition

Minor scratches and marks. Normal patina due to age and use, including scratches and marks. Larger and minor dents.
