Henry Heerup (b. Copenhagen 1907, d. s.p. 1993)

Provenance: The Author Thor Vilhjálmsson (1925–2011), Iceland. Thor Vilhjálmson won the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 1988 for the book “Grámosinn Glóir” (Justice Undone). In addition he painted, arranged exhibitions and wrote about Icelandic artists such as Jóhannes S. Kjárval and Svavar Guðnason. The sculpture is either acquired through his friend Svavar Guðnason or in 1952 while living in Copenhagen. Hence by descent in the family.
