Princess Louise Augusta in a Turkish dress. Full length en face. In a yellow dress, blue velvet coat lined with ermine. She is seated at a table with a Smyrna carpet and a bouquet of flowers, in her hand a mask. In the background a drapery and a column. Unsigned. Oil on canvas. 45×34 cm. Louis XVI frame.
Ellen Poulsen, A Catalogue Raisonné of the Works of Jens Juel under no. 383 mentions several replicas by Juel's hand of this charming portrait.
In the late 18th century it was high fashion to dress up in a Turkish costume and have one's portrait painted.
